The Century City Bar Association (CCBA) has named Irell & Manella LLP partner David Siegel as the 2012 "Securities Litigation Lawyer of the Year."  The award was given at the CCBA's 44th Annual Installation Banquet and Awards Ceremony on March 21, 2012.

As lead counsel in some of the most important securities litigation to arise from the financial crisis, David Siegel is one of the preeminent lawyers focused on defense of securities class and investor claims against corporations and their directors and officers, SEC enforcement proceedings and other complex commercial litigation matters.  Most frequently representing high-profile individuals and corporate officers at the center of government investigations and civil shareholder actions, Siegel has achieved a series of tremendous results protecting his clients in nationally watched cases.  His record – including never having a client indicted and resolving matters either by early dismissal or on financially reasonable terms – has earned him a reputation as "go to counsel" for individuals and companies facing serious litigation risks.

The Installation Banquet and Awards Ceremony also honored Irell & Manella partner emeritus Jane Shay Wald as she concluded her term as President of the CCBA.

With more than 4,000 lawyers in Century City, the CCBA's mission is to provide top-quality legal programming, enhance and promote the sense of community among Century City lawyers, honor Century City attorneys who have achieved extraordinary accomplishments, and provide leadership opportunities to lawyers who participate in the CCBA.
