Mr. Andrei Iancu
Irell & Manella LLP
Dear Mr. Iancu,
As the executive director of the Etta Israel Center, I am writing to express our deepest appreciation for the outstanding pro bono work our non-profit agency has received over the past year from Michael Kaplan and Colin Murray of Irell & Manella.
Their representation resulted in the successful merger of our agency, the Etta Israel Center, with OHEL Children's Home and Family Services, Inc., a large New York-based nonprofit. As a result of this successful merger, the Etta Israel Center will become part of the largest national network of providers for special needs housing for Jewish adults in the United States. This will create new and expanded opportunities for low-income adults with disabilities to find much needed supportive housing arrangements.
As a small non-profit serving the needs of the disabled in Los Angeles we would not have been able to afford the quality of legal representation that we received, had it not been for Irell's capacity to offer us pro bono counsel.
Mike and Colin epitomize the finest in professionalism -- brilliant, responsive, personable, and thoroughly attentive to our agency's needs. The transaction resulted in a superior outcome. I attribute this not only to their legal skill but also to their capacity to listen and hear what our agency truly wanted from this deal.
I also want to acknowledge the role of Joe Lipner, who has been a friend of our Center for many years, who thought long and hard about whom to refer us to within Irell. He clearly made an outstanding choice.
Please convey our deepest thanks to your colleagues for their generous support as well as our endless appreciation to Michael Kaplan and Colin Murray for their superb accomplishments on our behalf.
