Carlos Moreno Confirmed as Ambassador to Belize

Justice Carlos Moreno has been confirmed to serve as the next United States ambassador to Belize by the Senate. Moreno was a lawyer at Irell & Manella LLP from 2011 to 2013. He joined the firm after serving on the California Supreme Court for 10 years.

During his decade on the state's highest bench, Moreno authored 144 majority opinions. The third Latino to serve on the state Supreme Court, he made important judicial contributions in many areas of the law, including arbitration, class actions, and custody matters involving same sex couples.
