Leah Johannesson is a litigation associate in the Los Angeles office of Irell & Manella LLP. Prior to joining Irell, Ms. Johannesson served as a law clerk to the Honorable Garland E. Burrell, Jr. of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California.

Ms. Johannesson earned her J.D., summa cum laude, from Loyola Law School, where she was elected Order of the Coif. Ms. Johannesson was recognized as a Sayre MacNeil Scholar and a member of the Thomas More Honor Society. She also served as Chief Technical Editor of the Loyola of Los Angeles Law Review. While in law school, Ms. Johannesson was a Legal Extern in the Civil Division of the U.S. Attorney's Office. She also served as an extern for the Honorable Arthur L. Alarcon, United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

Prior to law school, Ms. Johannesson worked as a business analyst at a real estate software company. She earned her B.A. in Political Science, magna cum laude, from California Polytechnic State University.
