Brian Krechman is an associate in the Los Angeles office of Irell & Manella LLP, where his practice focuses on patent litigation and counseling. Mr. Krechman has represented clients in the biotechnology, semiconductor, and digital video recorder industries in complex patent litigations. He also provides strategic counseling on issues related to patent portfolio management. Representative clients include TiVo, Inc., Plantronics, Inc., City of Hope National Medical Center, PDL BioPharma, Inc., and Columbia University.
Representative Matters:
TiVo Inc. v. EchoStar Communications Corporation (E.D. Tex.): Represents patentee TiVo in litigation to enforce a permanent injunction. The Court found that EchoStar was in contempt of the permanent injunction and awarded TiVo over $200 million in damages.
Plantronics, Inc. v. Aliph, Inc. (N.D. Cal.): Represents patentee Plantronics in patent litigation related to stabilizers for cellular phone headsets.
NXP v. LSI and Agere (N.D. Cal.): Represents LSI and Agere in a set of patent litigations involving semiconductor manufacturing technology and circuit design.
MedImmune v. Genentech and City of Hope (C.D. Cal.): Represented City of Hope in a litigation involving a patent co-owned by Genentech and City of Hope relating to recombinant antibody production.
