Thomas E. Mitchell is an associate in the Newport Beach office of Irell & Manella LLP, where he is a member of the firm's transactions workgroup.

Mr. Mitchell received his J.D., magna cum laude, from Harvard Law School, where he was the Articles Editor of the Harvard Journal of Law & Public Policy. He received his B.A., summa cum laude, from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Mitchell served as a law clerk to the Honorable Diarmuid F. O'Scannlain of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and he was an associate at the law firm of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP.
