Paul N. Frimmer is a partner in the Los Angeles office of Irell & Manella LLP. The head of the firm's personal planning practice group, Mr. Frimmer specializes in estate planning, wills and trusts, probate and trust administration, postmortem tax planning, probate litigation, charitable giving, and tax issues relating to these matters.
Mr. Frimmer is also a member of the art law practice group, specializing in the estate planning aspects of owning art collections.
Professional Activities
Mr. Frimmer has authored and co-authored more than 50 publications on estate planning and related areas.
Mr. Frimmer is a frequent speaker at national and local estate planning seminars and institutes, including the NYU Tax Institute, the USC Tax Institute, the University of Miami Estate Planning Institute, ALI-ABA seminars, the USC Probate and Trust Institute, and the UCLA Estate Planning Institute. He currently is on the Planning Committee of the USC Tax Institute and the UCLA Estate Planning Institute. He has been an associate professor of law at the USC law school.
Mr. Frimmer is a California Certified Specialist in Probate, Estate Planning, and Trust Law. He is also a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel and the International Academy of Probate and Trust Law.
For over twenty years, Mr. Frimmer has been selected as one of Southern California's "Super Lawyers" by Los Angeles Magazine. Mr. Frimmer has also been recognized as a leading tax/estate planning and a leading wealth management lawyer by Chambers & Partners in its 2008 Chambers USA Leading Lawyers for Business Guide and has been selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America for 2009 in trusts and estates, tax law and non-profit/charities law. Also in 2008, Mr. Frimmer was named one of the top 12 estate lawyers in the U.S. by Conde Nast's Portfolio.com.
