Timothy Heggem is an associate in the Newport Beach office of Irell & Manella LLP, where he is a member of the litigation practice group. In addition to commercial litigation, Mr. Heggem's practice encompasses white collar criminal defense, securities litigation and class action defense. He has experience representing a wide variety of clients spanning various industries. Most recently, Mr. Heggem was a member of the Irell team that obtained a dismissal with prejudice of consolidated federal shareholder litigation arising from a $600 million settlement with the US Department of Justice for alleged off-label promotional activities related to Botox.
Mr. Heggem earned his J.D. from Yale Law School in 2010. While in law school, he was a finalist in the mock trial competition, after which he served as a board member of the mock trial program. Mr. Heggem was also a founding member of the national trial advocacy team that competed and placed in the National Trial Competition. He also served as a student director of both the Community Economic Development Clinic and the Advocacy for Children and Youth Clinic. Mr. Heggem earned his B.A. in Philosophy, summa cum laude, from Biola University in 2007. He is a graduate of Biola's Torrey Honors Institute with High Commendations and was ranked at multiple national tournaments by the National Parliamentary Debate Association.
