Ellisen Turner Named CCBA Patent Litigation Lawyer of the YearPrint PDF
The Century City Bar Association (CCBA) has named Irell & Manella LLP partner Ellisen S. Turner as the 2014 "Patent Litigation Lawyer of the Year." The award will be given at the CCBA's 46th Annual Installation Banquet and Awards Ceremony on April 9, 2014.
Ellisen is an intellectual property litigator whose practice also includes patent prosecution and post-grant proceedings, as well as intellectual property transactions. He has also excelled in pre-litigation counseling, successfully resolving disputes for many companies before claims are even filed. In addition, Ellisen is increasingly sought-after to facilitate the sale and acquisition of patent portfolios. An excellent writer, Ellisen has been responsible for successful briefs in both the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of the United States. He has also successfully represented clients as both claimants and respondents in patent infringement proceedings before the International Trade Commission.
In recognition of his exceptional accomplishments, the Los Angeles and San Francisco Daily Journals named Ellisen one of the top 20 attorneys in California under the age of 40 in 2011. That same year, Law360 also named him a “Rising Star” and listed him among the five IP attorneys under 40 to watch in the nation. Ellisen was named a 2014 Southern California Super Lawyer after being previously listed as a Super Lawyers "Rising Star" in intellectual property litigation every year since 2007.
Before joining Irell, Ellisen clerked for the Honorable Robert E. Payne of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.
Ellisen graduated, cum laude, from the University of Michigan School of Law, where he was a contributing editor on the University of Michigan Law Review. He earned his B.S., magna cum laude, in Computer Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Southern California
