The Alliance for Children's Rights honored Irell & Manella partner Steve Marenberg with the Francis M. Wheat Community Service Award at its 26th Annual Dinner at The Beverly Hilton on March 28, 2018. Marenberg was recognized for his long-time commitment and service to children in Los Angeles, having served on the Alliance's Board of Directors for more than 20 years and as its current co-chair.
As head of Irell's Media & Entertainment Litigation Group, Marenberg's clients have included some of the nation’s leading motion picture studios, television networks, independent production companies, music companies, interactive game companies and entertainers, as well as prominent high-technology firms. He is consistently recognized as a leading entertainment lawyer with accolades including The Hollywood Reporter’s Power Lawyers list and Variety’s Legal Impact Report, among others.
Marenberg has a long-standing commitment to community service, serving on the boards of the Friends of the Saban Community Clinic and the Visiting and Public Interest Advisory Committees of the University of Chicago Law School, in addition to his role with the Alliance for Children’s Rights.
The event also honored Bonnie Hammer, the chairman of NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment & Studios, with the National Champion for Children Award, and was hosted by Bravo TV’s Andy Cohen host of “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen."
