Andrei Iancu Nabs Paul Michel Award

09.2022

Andrei Iancu was recognized with IP Watchdog's 2022 "Paul Michel Award." The award is named after the Hon. Paul Michel (Ret.), former chief judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, who also chooses the recipient each year. It is bestowed annually to someone within the IP community who has selflessly served the best interests of the industry and its members.

Andrei was honored for his patent eligibility guidance during his term as director of the U.S. Patent and Trademark office; his efforts to integrate the work of the Patent Trial and Appeal Board with parallel litigation through creation of the Precedential Opinion Panel; his leadership on diversity and inclusion efforts; and his current work with the Center for Strategic and International Studies.
