Andrei Iancu Confirmed as Director of the USPTO

Long-time Irell & Manella partner Andrei Iancu was unanimously confirmed by the U.S. Senate as the next Director of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office on February 5, 2018. The vote was 94-0. Iancu maintained his intellectual property practice as a successful trial lawyer while serving as the Managing Partner of Irell & Manella for two three-year terms from 2012 to 2018, the maximum allowable tenure. In addition to other accolades, he was consistently named one of the top 100 lawyers in California in recognition of his wins for both plaintiffs and defendants.
