Morgan Chu was included on the Los Angeles Business Journal’s 2019 Top Litigators & Trial Lawyers list. The annual supplement recognizes 50 of the “very best litigators” in Los Angeles. The publication noted Morgan’s 2018 victory for NantKwest – persuading an en banc Federal Circuit panel to reject the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office’s position that applicants who appeal to a district court must foot the agency’s legal bills, regardless of who wins or loses. That case is now before the U.S. Supreme Court. It also pointed to his 2018 confidential settlement for Immersion in a multi-patent action against Apple before the International Trade Commission and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.
