Morgan Chu, Jason Sheasby and Lisa Glasser Honored as Law360 MVPs

10.2020

Morgan Chu, Jason Sheasby and Lisa Glasser were honored as 2020 Law360 MVPs. Morgan was recognized in the Intellectual Property category, and Jason and Lisa were recognized as a duo in the Trials category.

Law360 noted that Morgan led Irell teams that scored two consecutive 9-0 wins in December 2019: The $752 million jury award for Sloan Kettering Institute for Cancer Research and Juno Therapeutics, Inc. – enhanced to more than $1.1 billion – and willful infringement finding against Kite Pharma, and NantKwest’s U.S. Supreme Court victory, in which the justices struck down the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office's policy that applicants who appeal to a district court must foot the agency’s legal bills no matter who wins.

Jason and Lisa were recognized for their work in securing more than $300 million in jury awards for United Services Automobile Association in separate patent trials against Wells Fargo, as well as the $506 million jury award for PanOptis in patent litigation against Apple. Jurors in all three trials found willful infringement, and the PanOptis case was the first in-person patent jury trial in the U.S. since the pandemic.

Law360 MVPs are attorneys who have distinguished themselves in high-stakes litigation, record-breaking deals and complex global matters. Please click here to view Morgan's Law360 profile and click here to view Jason and Lisa's profile (subscription required).
