Four Irell Attorneys Named to Daily Journal’s Top IP List

Morgan Chu, Ben Hattenbach, Lisa Glasser and Jason Sheasby were selected to the Daily Journal’s 2022 Top IP Lawyers list, which honors the 80 California attorneys who have made the biggest impact in the intellectual property field.

Morgan was noted for obtaining a $2.18 billion jury award for VLSI Technology in a patent trial against Intel relating to microprocessor technology, and persuading the U.S. Supreme Court to rule 9-0 for client NantKwest, among other matters. The Daily Journal also recognized Ben for securing the VLSI verdict, and for handling several significant ongoing patent matters including for NXP USA Inc. and Demaray LLC.

Lisa was recognized for scoring a $48 million jury trial victory for the City of Pomona in an environmental suit involving contaminated water, a $60 million settlement for Glaukos Corp. in medical device patent litigation, and more than $300 million in patent damages for United Services Automobile Association (USAA) in separate jury trials against Wells Fargo, among other matters. Jason was noted for obtaining the City of Pomona verdict, securing a $300 million jury verdict for PanOptis in a suit against Apple involving patents essential to LTE technology, and obtaining the aforementioned patent damages for USAA, among other victories.
