Irell Secures $445 Million in Damages for Netlist Against Micron

On May 23, Irell & Manella LLP secured a trial victory for Netlist in a suit against Micron, which involves patents relating to computer memory technology. The jury found both asserted patents willfully infringed by Micron, and awarded $445 million in damages.

The trial was heard in the courtroom of Judge Rodney Gilstrap in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.

This verdict follows a trial victory for Netlist against Samsung in the Central District of California in an action to declare Samsung in material breach of contract a week earlier, on May 17, and a $303.15 million verdict Irell obtained for Netlist in different litigation against Samsung in April 2023.

The Irell team for the Micron trial includes Jason Sheasby, Rebecca Carson, Tony Rowles, Stephen Payne, Lisa Glasser, Annita Zhong, Andrew Strabone, Michael Tezyan and Drew Henderson.
