Irell & Manella LLP persuaded a judge to issue a $2.3 billion final judgment for VLSI Technology LLC in a suit against Intel Corporation involving two patents on technology used in Intel’s microprocessors. The amount includes more than $162 million in prejudgment interest. The judgment comes a little over a year after Irell persuaded a Waco, Texas jury to award VLSI $2.18 billion in the case.

The Irell trial team included Morgan Chu, Ben Hattenbach, Alan Heinrich, Ian Washburn, Thomas Barr, Babak Redjaian, Charlotte Wen and Jordan Nafekh. Mann Tindel Thompson was local counsel for VLSI.
